RETIRING SENATOR SUPPORTS DANA AS SUCCESSOR
Joyce Krawiec has variously represented represents Stokes, Davie, Yadkin, and Forsyth County in the North Carolina Senate. She announced her retirement effective at the end of her term in January 2025, and has proudly endorsed Dana Caudill Jones as her successor.
Joyce is a commonsense conservative who believes that God has a plan for every life. He gives us our passion to keep us focused in order to complete the plan he has for us.
KNOWN FOR HER COMPASSION
Joyce is perhaps known for her compassion and for her ability to work with others. She passed a bill to require health insurance companies to cover children with autism with near unanimous support. She also passed Burt’s Law to crack down on abusive nursing home staff. She also passed a Voter ID bill to protect election security with Senator Joel Ford (D).
“Even now it’s hard to tell Burt’s story with the tears. You understood my tears, you understood Burt’s fears & you championed Burt’s Law. Thank you for your willingness to not back down, for the love and friendship you have shown my family,” Burt’s mother wrote recently.
CALLED TO SERVE
Joyce never expected to run for office. But when Representative Larry Brown passed away she was shocked when members of the Republican Party wanted to appoint her to the seat.
“I was always a worker bee. I never thought I would run for office.”
Soon after, Senator Pete Brunstetter left office to go into private practice and Party members again urged her to accept an appointment. She was sworn into office in early 2014 and re-elected in her own right.
Before serving in the Senate, Joyce was a lifelong conservative and Christian activist.
SELF-MADE BUSINESS OWNER, WIFE, AND MOM
Joyce lives in Kernersville with her husband Ray. They have lived in the community for over forty years. They own a commercial real estate development firm and have two grown daughters. They attend First Christian Church.
